Serving schools and families to bring the best related services and reading intervention to those in need.

Effective reading interventions for schools and families Background Image

Our Story

"The LD Expert" was born from early morning phone calls between two best friends discussing how to better help students in need of services.

CEO & Founder, Stephanie, spent her early career working in specialized schools specifically for students with Learning Differences, witnessing the "red tape" of school systems holding students back. She combined her passions with COO and Co-Owner, Chelsea, a speech-language pathologist who has worked online in schools for over a decade, to build a company that allows expert teachers and therapists to provide the services needed in the way that students need them.

Certified dyslexia practitioners are not available in all areas of the country, and providing online intervention allows families to give their child the best instruction without proximity limitations. Many schools struggle to find quality speech therapists, occupational therapists, or certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioners to meet their Special Education needs. We are here to help with all of these things!

Your students’ specific strengths and needs are our priority, and we always have their individual learning styles in mind during therapy and instruction. We strive to combine the expertise of therapists and teachers who understand learning differences with the convenience of an online platform!

FAQs

Answers to frequently asked questions

Dyslexia therapy is the systematic delivery of intervention that is explicit, multi-sensory and follows a logical sequence to help students improve their reading, spelling, and comprehension skills. Dyslexia therapy follows the science of reading, which is proven to be the most effective treatment for dyslexia.

If your child is struggling with reading and spelling, you feel they are behind their peers or not reaching their full potential, we can help! Dyslexia therapy can benefit any struggling reader or speller, even without a dyslexia diagnosis.

All of our dyslexia practitioners are certified teachers as well has holding the minimum of Certified Dyslexia Practitioner from Wilson Language Training. This is an additional certification requiring them to have completed a 3-day training, masters level coursework, and a year-long 1:1 supervised practicum.

Most of our students complete the program in about 2.5-3 years. While it is not an overnight fix, students do not tend to need to continue tutoring once they complete the program.

You will receive daily session notes each time your child meets with their teacher to keep you informed of their progress. Additionally, we complete progress monitoring assessments four times throughout the program.
