Occupational Therapy Job Description
and Responsibilities
Position: School-Based Occupational Therapist
Setting: Online Public School
Hourly Rate: $70/hour
State: Utah
Requirements: Utah OT licensure and background report completed through the school with either a hard card fingerprint mailed directly to the school, or completed through at a LiveScan near you when possible.
Start Date for Scheduling: August 14, 2024

School begins 8/14, but there are no services provided the first or last week of school, the two weeks over winter break, and one week over spring break.

All students with weekly frequencies must have services offered each week, which would mean that if you have students on Monday, when there is no school on Mondays, a make-up session would need to at least be offered (families have the option to decline). This also applies to the week of Thanksgiving.
Direct Services:

Occupational Therapy Services ($70/hour)

Late Cancellations | less than 24-hours notice ($70/hour)

No Shows ($70/hour)

IEP Meetings ($70/hour)

This includes any eligibility meetings, as well

Evaluations ($210 flat rate)
-
This includes scheduling, evaluating, and report writing assuming that each evaluation will average three hours of work. Testing materials and record forms provided by OT.

Indirect Services:

IEP Paperwork (1-hour flat rate of $70)

Progress Reports (15-minute flat rate of $17.50)

Scheduling a new student (20-minute flat rate of $23.33)
Additional Responsibilities (Unpaid):

Daily Responsibilities:
-
Enter billing and attendance for assigned services into the school’s system
-
This will essentially be a SOAP note
-
This will follow clear guidelines set forth by the school that must be followed. The school can decline payment if not followed.

Enter attendance in TutorBird

Communicate with families and teachers as needed

Communicate with LD Expert as needed
Expectations for Scheduling:
-
This will be explained in more detail once we’ve received the school’s handbook, but the expectation will be to call, text, and email families beginning the week of August 14 with scheduling options and track scheduling attempts.

Scheduling templates, apps, recommendations, and trackers will be provided by LD Expert, but the assigned SLP is responsible for making all direct contact and logging their attempts

Caseload Monitoring:

LD Expert will provide master shared spreadsheets to track and log due dates for students’ progress reports, IEPs and triennials. There will also be an option for goal tracking provided should you choose to utilize it.
